Privacy Policy
Japan Rewrite (“the App”) is a Shopify app developed by Neural Seed (“we”, “us”, “our”). The App rewrites the Japanese product titles and descriptions in your Shopify store into SEO-optimized English content and saves it as English translations of your products.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects when a merchant (“you”) installs and uses it, how that information is used and shared, and how it is stored and deleted.
1. Information we collect
When you install and use the App, we collect and store only the information needed to provide its features:

| Store authentication data | Your store’s Shopify domain, the access token issued by Shopify, and the permissions (scopes) you granted. Used to connect the App to your store. |
| Product information | The titles and descriptions of the products you choose to convert. Product images are displayed in the App but are not stored by us. |
| Conversion history | For each converted product: the product ID, the original Japanese title and description, and the generated English title, description, SEO title, meta description and keywords. |
| Monthly usage | The number of conversions your store has applied in each calendar month, used to enforce plan limits. |
Information we do not collect
- Personal information about your customers (names, addresses, phone numbers, order history)
- Your customers’ email addresses
- Payment information. Any subscription charges are processed by Shopify; we never see or store card details.
The App requests only the Shopify permissions it needs: reading products, reading and managing store languages, and writing translations. It does not request access to customers or orders.
2. How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
- Authenticate your store and access your products through the Shopify Admin API
- Generate English SEO content from your Japanese product information
- Save the content you approve to your store as English translations, using Shopify’s Translations API. Your original Japanese content is never overwritten.
- Enable and publish English as a store language when you first apply content, if it is not already enabled
- Show you which products have already been converted and let you edit previous results
- Count your monthly conversions and apply your plan’s limits
- Diagnose errors and keep the App secure and reliable
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or use it for any purpose unrelated to the App.
4. Data storage and deletion
Your data is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database and transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Access tokens are used only for communicating with Shopify on behalf of your store.
When you uninstall the App
- Your store’s authentication data (access tokens) is deleted immediately.

Shopify then sends a data deletion request (
shop/redact) 48 hours after uninstall. When we receive it, we permanently delete all remaining data for your store, including your conversion history and usage records.
GDPR and privacy compliance
The App supports Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks (customers/data_request,
customers/redact and shop/redact). Because the App does not collect
or store any personal information about your customers, customer data requests and customer
deletion requests require no data to be returned or deleted.
5. Your rights
As a merchant using the App, you can:
- Access: request a copy of the data we store about your store
- Correct: edit generated content in the App before or after applying it
- Delete: request deletion of your data at any time, or uninstall the App to have it deleted automatically as described above
- Object or restrict: stop using the App, or ask us to stop processing your data
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another region with data protection laws, you may have additional rights under those laws, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated through the App or by email.
